Week 4: Response #4
This is a quick clip about repairing lawn sprinklers. I felt this was useful because a well tended yard should be watered regularly, and it is important to keep yard care equipment functioning properly. If grass isn't watered in a timely manner it will whither up and die.
To keep a yard alive we could depend solely on rain, but in drought years we would be left short. I am a fan of water conservation, but I am also a fan of an emerald green front yard. A good water sprinkler can help conserve water, and keep your yard pretty and fresh looking. An out of repair sprinkler might have a leak, or more than one. A leaky sprinkler will drip gallons of wasted water, water that costs money and could have otherwise been used to give the grass shoots a drink.
It doesn't take much to keep a sprinkler in good repair. The hardest part is taking the time out of one's schedule to do the maintenance. It's work, or at least a chore, to be done usually during one's time off. Most people, when they aren't at their jobs, would prefer to do as little work as possible. Usually there are already a million and one other little projects that need to be done around the house, and like those, the broken sprinkler gets shuffled around in the list of priorities.
But once time is made to fix the sprinkler the reward is immediate. When hooking the sprinkler back up to the water hose you won't get sprayed in the face when that water starts flowing.
